Training Thursday

Woohoo. *twirls fingers in the air with a dead expression* *throws a shower of confetti*

Swear to God, if one more dude tells me to smile today… It’s early, and my alarm didn’t go off and I was almost late to work, which caused me a lot of stress this morning.

Thank God that my favorite HM3 was in charge of training today; we covered some basic FMF (Fleet Marine Force) knowledge and it got me all motivated to go greenside again.

On that note, in spite of how freaking exhausted I am, I am absolutely going to the damn gym today. I’ve got to start getting myself in shape to carry Marines and survive combat (if it should come to that). My eventual goal is to get back to what I used to be able to do: swim 500 yards in eight minutes or less, do at least ten pull-ups, run 3 miles in less than 26, and get back to the weights I used to be able to handle. I’m also going to have to try to find a couple of dudes that are willing to let me fireman carry them to get used to hauling around Marines. I’m used to helping drunken Marines home from bars, but it’s not quite the same thing as carrying a wounded Marine off a battlefield.

I’m not sure there’s enough BCAAs, protein, and thermogenics in the damn world. But, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. I think today will wind up being run, lift, swim, protein, sleep.
